Whereas the education is generally assessed through literary rates, number of schools, qualifications, publications and the ‘bright careers’, a frequently ignored side to this is that what is the crux of all this education and what sort of educated society do we envision? The brutal murder of the Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, has been grabbing global attention since two months and will likely continue doing so. While the investigations are still underway and the culprits are still being looked for, the American President, Donald Trump, released a statement regarding his stance on November 20th. The statement disappointed many and ironically began with the remark 'The world is a very dangerous place!' Since the advent of the British colonialists in the Indian subcontinent, the Muslims of this region (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) have largely remained divided in the camps of conservatives (termed 'Mullahs') and liberals (called 'Misters' in archaic terms).
